A Committee of Inquiry led by retired Judge Ms A.N.J. De Alwis was appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to probe actions of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) and the Chief of National Intelligence ( CNI ) and other authorities regarding prior information/intelligence on the April 21, 2019 bombings.
The Committee will assess responses based on Indian agency intel and investigate DMI's initial LTTE link to Vavunathivu killings.
The findings are due by September 15, 2024.

In his special statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that debt restructuring agreements will postpone all bilateral loan payments to foreign countries until 2028. Additionally, Sri Lanka will have until 2043 to repay these loans on concessional terms.
