A low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka will result in heavy rains and thundershowers during the next few days, the Meteorology Department forecasted.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most parts of the island particularly during the evening or night, the Department said.
“Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers,” the Met. Department advised.
