The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) will commence raids on traders selling eggs at exorbitant prices.
A senior official of CAA said traders have been given a one-week relief period to sell eggs at Rs.50 per egg, but from next week they will have to stick to MRP of Rs. 43 (white egg) Rs.45 (brown egg) mentioned in the recently issued gazette by the CAA.
Legal action will be taken against errant traders, he said.
