There will be no power cuts tomorrow (12), the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) stated. The CEB noted that the Board would be able to manage the electricity demand for tomorrow with the available generation capacity owing to tomorrow being a Poya holiday.
However, scheduled power cuts will continue today (11). The CEB has released the updated power cut schedule for today.
The CEB was forced to impose the power cuts owing to all three generators of the Lakvijaya power plant in Norochcholai shutting down during Sunday's island-wide power cut.
