A 3-day dengue eradication program was carried out by the Colombo Municipal Council from May 30 - June 1.
Chief PHI of CMC W. A. S Kumara said that 8687 premises were inspected and
129 breeding places were identified.
He said that red notices have been issued to 283 premises, and 930 potential breeding grounds were identified as well.
Mr. Kumara said that 651 breeding grounds were cleared on the spot while
notices have been issued to 283 premises to be cleaned within three days.
Forty seven PHIs, 50 health instructors, 40 PCs 40 Army and Navy personnel participated in the eradication program under the supervision of chief Medical officer of health Dr Geethika Rathnewardana
