The Cabinet has approved the signing of a cooperation agreement between Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board (EDB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) in becoming exporters.
The agreement, part of the EDB’s programme to develop new exporters, aims to provide the necessary facilities to help small and medium businesses with export potential transition into exporters.
The agreement has received clearance from the Attorney General and recommendations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the President, acting as Minister of Investment Promotion, to proceed with the signing of the agreement.
