Cabinet approval has been granted to gazette the Economic Transformation Bill and to present it to Parliament for approval.
A government statement said Cabinet granted policy approval for the initial draft of the bill at its meeting on March 25, 2024 and the Legal Draftsman was directed to present the formal draft bill as soon as possible including revisions suggested by the Attorney General.
Accordingly, the clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the prepared draft bill. As such, the Cabinet granted approval to a proposal presented by the President to gazette the said bill and present it to Parliament for approval.
