The Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal submitted by the Minister of Transport to introduce an online prepaid transit card to be used in the public transport of buses and trains with the objective of avoiding unnecessary inconveniences.
Accordingly, the Cabinet granted approval to appoint a Committee consisting of all relevant stakeholders to implement the programme.
Lanka Clear (Pvt) Ltd, a 100 percent local company affiliated with Central bank of Sri Lanka has submitted its proposal for the proposed online prepaid transit card project.
