The Chinese Government will provide Yuan 552 million to the Sri Lankan Government in order to construct 1,996 housing units.
The units will be provided to low-income generating individuals, and is done under the urban restoration project implemented with the aim of housing residents of low-facility housing schemes within the Western province.
Land development and supply of infrastructure facilities up to the site limit will be the responsibility of the Government.
Cabinet Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Prasanna Ranatunga to sign the agreement on the relevant project.
