Citrus Waskaduwa, recently joined hands with Kings Hospital Colombo to commence operations as an Intermediary Care Centre (ICC), strengthening Sri Lanka’s fight against COVID-19.
The Intermediary Care Centre begins operations on March 5 where asymptomatic and mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients will receive world-class accommodation and meals via Citrus Waskaduwa, with Kings Hospital bringing years of expertise in medical care and operating the treatment of patients under the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, Citrus said in a media release.
After an expert medical screening, the Centre is equipped to facilitate COVID-19 patients who have other comorbid illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension, with the Centre hosting a High-Dependency Unit (HDU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the event that critical care is required. Additionally, ambulance services within defined spaces can be availed for emergency transportation of patients under expert supervision of the Kings Hospital staff, allowing patients to recover in a more relaxed and conducive environment.
The hotel, consisting of 150 rooms on single, double, and triple basis, is situated in close proximity to Colombo. The Intermediary Care Centre will operate under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and other concerned authorities adhering to stringent health guidelines and strict government protocol.
