The Police Children's and Women’s Bureau has requested the termination of four websites which have been used to sexually exploit a 15-year-old girl.
Police Media Spokesman and Director of the National Child Protection Authority, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana explained that following the request, the court has ordered the Director General of Telecommunication Regulatory Commission to suspend the operation of websites identified as www. Landa-ads.com, www.nastylanka.com, www.redroselanka.com and messagerepeublic.com.
DIG Rohana elaborated that initial investigation regarding the incident was carried out by Mount Lavania police and was later handed over to the Children's and Women’s Bureau of the police. During further police investigations they have observed that the 15-year-old girl had been supplied to various persons through these four websites, he said.
