Traders have raised concerns over the availability of food items for the upcoming festive seasons in view of possible shortages due trade union action by Customs officials.
With Ramadan, Sinhala and Tamil New Year and Easter celebrations due, Customs officials today stepped up their trade union action.
The concern arose in the face of 3500 containers being held up at the Colombo Port due to a dispute between the Sri Lanka Customs and the Treasury.
