The Narahenpita head office and Werahera branch of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) have been closed till August (16) Monday, State Minister of Vehicle Regulation, Bus Transport Services , Train Compartment and Motor Car Industry Dilum Amunugama said.
The decision has been taken due to several employees of both offices being tested positive for COVID-19.
Minister Amunugama said that over 250 employees of the Sri Lanka Transport Board have also been tested positive for Coronavirus and plans are ahead to convert the SLTB Driver Training School in Kalutara as a COVID treatment centre for infected employees.
