The Department of Registration of Persons has halted all services to the public after several employees were tested positive for COVID-19, the Department’s Commissioner General Viyani Gunathilake said.
He said though the head office and all provincial offices will be closed to the public, National Identity Cards (NIC)s of those who have applied for and given a time to collect, will be sent to their residences via speed post.
Those who are in need of the NIC for examinations, interviews, applying for passport or any other emergency can do so by contacting the head office on 0115226126/0115226100 during office hours or by sending an email to info@drp.lk
