The Committee of Inquiry, appointed by a resolution of Parliament to investigate the removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon, has summoned him to appear before the Committee on May 19.
The Committee, chaired by Justice Padman Surasena with Justice Neil Iddawala and Chairman of the National Police Commission alith Ekanayake as its other members.
The Committee is conducting the investigation in accordance with its mandate under the provisions of *Act No 5 of 2002 Removal of Officers (Procedure) Act.
The Committee meeting are being held in in Committee Room 8 of the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
