The suspended Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon's lawyers today filed a writ petition before the Appeal Court requesting to cancel the arrest order issued on him by the Matara Magistrate's Court.
The Petition will be considered by Appeal Court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile the Police have appealed for public assistance for information leading to Tennakoon's arrest.
