Colombo District National People's Power (NPP) MP Dr. Rizvie Salih was elected unanimously as the Deputy Speaker of the Tenth Parliament.
His name was proposed by Chief Government Whip Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa and seconded by NPP MP Saroja Paulraj.
Representing the Colombo Electoral District, Dr. Salih was elected to Parliament in the 2024 general election.
With over three decades of experience as a medical practitioner, Dr. Salih is also an active member of the National Executive Committee and the Business Forum of the National People’s Power (NPP).
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
