Newly-appointed Minister of Mass Media Dullas Alahapperuma assumed duties at the Media Ministry yesterday following the cabinet reshuffle, the Ministry said.
No ceremony has been organized to mark the event, the Ministry said. Minister Alahapperuma had a brief discussion with the Secretary and top officials of the Ministry on the current situation and future plans of the Ministry.
The Minister said that he will give priority to the task of launching educational television channels within two weeks for the school children.
