Elephant killed in car accident
An elephant was killed after being hit by a car in the Meegashandiya area on the Anuradhapura – Padeniya road shortly after midnight yesterday, Police said.
The elephant was killed on the spot.
The vehicle was badly damaged while the driver sustained injuries and hospitalised.
