Eleven senior Police officials retired on December 31, 2022, having reached the prescribed age of retirement.
The officials included Senior DIG Nandana Munasinghe, Senior DIG in charge of Uva Province W. F. U. Fernando, DIG in charge of Presidential Security Augustus Perera, DIG in charge of Vanni Vandana Alahakoon, DIG in charge of North E. M. U. Wijitha Gunaratne, DIG in charge of Community Police and Environment Protection Jagath Palihakkara, DIG in charge of Kegalle Champika Siriwardena, DIG in charge of Badulla Kithsiri Jayalal Aponsu, DIG in charge of Kalutara S. D. S. P. Sandanayake
DIG in charge of Nuwara Eliya H. S. N. Peiris and DIG Western North Crime Prishantha Jayakody.
A Service Appreciation and an expression of gratitude was held on December 30 for the retiring officers with the participation of the Inspector General of Police, Chandana Wickramaratne at the Police headquarters.
Senior DIG Nandana Munasinghe was rewarded with a parade at the Police headquarters, while other retiring Police officers received parades from their respective Police divisions.
