Evaluation of appeals and objections obtained in respect to the “Aswesuma” welfare benefits scheme will be carried out by the respective District Secretarias soon, State Minister for Finance Shehan Semasinghe said.
“The Government would ensure that all deserving individuals who require assistance would be included in Aswesuma”, Minister Semasinghe said in a tweet.
Accordingly, the Welfare Benefits Board accepted appeals and objections pertinent to the new welfare benefits programme until July 10 and received 968,000 appeals and 17,500 objections in the period under review.
