Showers or thunder showers will trigger at several places in Uva, Central, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-Western, North-Central provinces plus, Mannar and Vavuniya districts during the day and night, says the Department of Meteorology.
Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are expected at some places in the above areas.
A few showers are likely to occur in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya and Mannar districts during the morning.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Hambantota via Puttalam, Colombo, Galle and Matara would experience showers or thundershowers during the evening or night.
The maritime zones around the island will remain moderate although, temporary strong gusts of wind and very turbulent waters may turn up during thundershowers transiently.
