K.M Mahinda Siriwardena assumed duties as the secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Policy Making, Planning and Tourism today.
Mr Siriwardena who held the position during the tenure of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe once more assumed duties. Deputy secretaries of the treasury and heads of departments which come under the finance ministry took part in the event.
He contributed to obtain the extended credit facility of the International Monetary Fund and to make the debt restructuring process of the country successful. Mr Siriwardena had worked as Alternate Executive Director for Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
