Four suspects have been arrested for ragging new students in the University of Sabaragamuwa, the CID said today (March 30).
They have been part of an illegal group and having illegally entered the premises of the Sabaragamuwa University hostel had ragged new students by beating and wounding students on February 15.
Police said the CID was successful in arresting the suspects on March 28 in Balangoda. The suspects were aged 22, 23 and 24 and are residents of Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Ambalangoda and Welimada.
The suspects were produced to the Balangoda Magistrate Court and were released on bail yesterday. The CID is conducting further investigations.
