The Ministry of Finance is undecided over the release of some 400 vehicles that arrived in the country after a ban on import of such vehicles came into effect.
The Director General of Customs Major General Vijitha Ravipriya said that there have been nearly 400 vehicles which have been imported despite the ban on importing luxury items and vehicles.
He added that among those vehicles were luxury vehicles imported before the ban but arrived at ports after the ban and vehicles imported after the ban.
Even though the vehicles are remaining at ports the Customs has not decided to clear them as the Finance Ministry has not yet given orders to clear the vehicles.
