Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara today disclosed that some of the fuel stations have failed to maintain adequate fuel stocks keeping according to requirements
This was after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation(CPC) had announced earlier that they are anticipating the fuel price revision next month.
Considering this,101 fuel station dealers for 92 Petrol & 61 fuel station dealers for Lanka Auto Diesel have not maintained 50% stock capacity & placed adequate orders to maintain stock requirements as of yesterday(29), Minister Wijesekara said.
He added, Last month CPC took over the management of a few fuel
stations that had not maintained minimum stocks & begun legal
proceedings on multiple other dealers.
The Stock Details as of Sunday morning for all CPSTL/CPC Plants ; Diesel - 124,690
Sup. Diesel - 5,651, 92 Pet - 19,903,95 Pet - 4,537 and JET A1 - 26,539 (All figures in MT).
