Health authorities shut down a garment factory in Naula town in Matale District last night (19) after PCR tests found that 25 employees at the factory had contracted COVID-19.
About 35 persons within the Naula Ministry of Health (MoH) Division have so far tested positive for the virus.
About 30 families in the area have already placed in quarantine and Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) said they are now in the process of tracking down the close contacts of the latest individuals to test positive.
Several school children are among those who had tested positive earlier. Authorities however, said no schools have been shut and they continue to operate under strict healt guidelines.
Daily life in Naula town too continues subject to health guidelines.
