The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to import 120,000 liters of liquid oxygen monthly to meet up the surging medical oxygen demand and maintain an adequate secure stock in the island.
The Cabinet memorandum submitted by the Ministry of Health also secured the approval to establish High Dependency Units to treat critically ill COVID-19 infected patients in 25 hospitals across the country.
It was also decided to establish 15 oxygen generator machines in 15 identified remote hospitals in order to ensure the necessary medical oxygen supply for the hospitals.
