The Meteorological Department today issued an advisory for heavy rainfall. According to the advisory high rains are expected at Western Sabaragamuwa province and Galle and Matara Districts.
Due to the Active south west monsoon conditions over the island, prevailing showery condition in the south western part of the island is likely to continue further.
Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts.
