The identity of the caller or callers who have threatened three members of the Elections Commission are yet to be tracked, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said today.
He said that since the calls and messages have been received via Whatsapp it has been difficult to trace the identity.
He said that all three members who have been threatened have been provided police protection with armed guards.
The threats have come after nominations were closed and the Elections commission was preparing to conduct the polls on March 9.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
