In The Haputale Urban Council election, an Independent Group (IND1) took the lead, winning 5 out of 11 seats with 1,038 votes (46.01%).
The National People’s Power (NPP) followed with 844 votes (37.41%), securing 4 seats.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) managed 2 seats with 374 votes (16.58%).
Out of 3,051 registered voters, 2,304 turned up to vote, marking a turnout of 75.52%.
Only 48 votes were rejected, while 2,256 were valid.
