President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that Japan will assist in the Credit Reconciliation Process and agreed to Co- Chair the summit in negotiation with creditor nations.
President Wickremesinghe made the comment in a special statement to Parliament on the economic situation and current negotiations with the creditors.
He added that Sri Lanka hopes to come to a common agreement with creditor nations including Japan, China and India. Apart from that the government has also commenced dialogues with Ambassadors of other countries that provided debt.
He also added that they expect to discuss with private creditors such as the London club for restructuring of debt.
