Sri Lanka foremost traditional dancer Deshamanya Dr. Vajira Chitrasena passed away today. She was 92.
Along with her husband, the legendary dancer Chitrasena, they blazed a trail that inspired generations of Lankans and won them fame and fans worldwide.
She was the recipient of numerous honours including the Padma Shri , one of India’s highest civilian honour.
