All retail liquor stores will be closed on Saturday (04) and Sunday (05), the Excise Department announced.
The closure comes in view of Independence Day and Navam Poya Day falling during the weekend.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
