Domestic gas prices have been increased with effect from midnight today, said the Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka Muditha Peiris.
The revised Litro gas prices are as follows:
12.5kg - Rs. 3470 (increased by Rs. 343)
5kg - Rs. 1393 (increased by Rs. 137)
2.3kg - Rs. 650 (increased by Rs. 63)
Mr. Peiris told a news conference that the reason for the price hike was in line with the market price of the world market.
"In comparison with the past few months, we had to witness a number of price hikes. However, we were able to control it." he said.
"We are expecting the global market prices to increase in the next few months too.
However, we will ensure that the burden to the consumer will be minimized like we have one in the recent past," he added.
Revised prices of Laugfs gas are as follows:
12.5kg - Rs. 3985 (increased by Rs. 150)
5kg - 1595 (increased by Rs. 60)
