Lufthansa Technik (LHT)/ Hamburg has been awarded the contract for the repairing of CFM 56-5B engines and the maintenance, repairing and operation overhaul of Si Lankan AirLine Services Limited.
The contract valid for four years was given approval by the Cabinet on Tuesday.
Lufthansa Technik (LHT) was selected on the recommendations of the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the cabinet of ministers.
Seven bids were submitted in response to the international competitive bids called by the Government.
Cabinet approved the proposal to award the contract to the substantially lowest responsive bidder which was Lufthansa Technik (LHT)/ Hamburg.
The cabinet proposal was submitted by the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
