Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage is to lodge a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (10) over allegations made by Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Patali Champika Ranawaka regarding the importation of Nanonitrogen fertiliser.
Mr Ranawaka had alleged during a media briefing that there was a multimillion rupee fraud regarding the importation of the fertiliser.
Accordingly, the minister said he intends to ask the CID to probe these allegations immediately.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
