Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces along with Galle and Matara districts will experience showers or thundershowers today (26) according to the Department of Meteorology.
Several spells of showers are due in Jaffna and Anuradhapura districts.
The Met. Department further predicts showers or thundershowers in many parts of Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night.
Showers or thundershowers are on the cards at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo, Galle, and Matara.
Winds will be south-westerly and will be at 30-40 KMPH.
Wind speed may advance into 50-55 KMPH in the marine areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
In the meantime, stormy seas are expected in the maritime zones off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kakesanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast widening from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle would turn up moderately rough on occasion.
Moreover, strong gusts of wind and turbulent waters are also foreseen during thundershowers transiently.
