Police have warned motorists of the closure of selected roads in the Kompannaya Vidiya and Kollupitiya Police areas from tomorrow to March 11 due to laying of underground wastewater pipelines.
The roads will be closed in three stages temporarily.
The roads include the Sri Uttarananda Mawatha alongside the Beira Lake canal between Kompannaya Vidiya and Navam Mawatha.
Under the first stage the road between Nawam Mawatha to the railway crossing and Uttarananda Mawatha will be closed from February 5 to February 19.
In the second stage the Uttarananda Mawatha and Perahera Mawatha to Nawam Mawatha will be closed from February 20 to March 04.
From March 5 to March 11 the Uttarananda Mawatha and Perahera Mawatha to Rotunda gardens will be closed.
The underground wastewater pipeline is to be eventually connected to the Colombo Port city area.
