The National People’s Power (NPP) has secured the highest number of seats in the Hambantota Municipal Council, winning 8 out of 21 seats with 4,750 votes(38.84%)
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in a close second, gaining 7 seats with 3,874 votes (31.68%).
The People's Alliance (PA) claimed 3 seats with 1,511 votes (12.35%).
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) earned just 2 seats, securing 1,279 votes (10.46%).
Sarvajana Balaya (SB) managed to secure 1 seat with 816 votes (6.67%).
Out of 18,759 registered voters in the Hambantota Municipal area, 12,484 cast their ballots, a turnout of 66.55%.
A total of 254 votes were rejected, while 12,230 were valid.
