Navy seizes fishing trawler with drugs in the south

A multi-day fishing trawler involved in trafficking narcotics has been seized with 21 kilgorams of Heroin and five suspects by the Navy, officials said.

The contraband is said to have a street value of Rs 210 million,

The trawler had gone out for fishing on January 4 from Mirissa and had travelled to a distance of 80 nautical miles raising suspicion of the Navy.

The Navy had checked the vessel on suspicion .
