The new Audio Visual Study Unit of the Colombo University's Sri Palee Campus in Horana was declared open yesterday.
The new unit was declared open at a ceremony held under the patronage of Education Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris and Japan's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akira Sugiyama.
The unit was built using funds provided under the Cultural Grassroots Project of Japanese Embassy of Sri Lanka. The unit contains many modern facilities including modern cameras and post-production equipment.
After the opening, the Minister Peiris, Ambassador Sugiyama, State Minister Vidura Wickramanayake and Colombo University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chandrika N. Wijeratne took part in a discussion programme recorded at the new Audio Visual Study Unit.
