Top government officials in Jaffna have called for an urgent meeting today to decide on next steps to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 after 143 persons tested positive for the virus yesterday.
Currently Lockdown measures are imposed on a Grama Sevaka (GS) division (J/110) and Thirunelveli market under Nallur area currently after a significant number of traders involved in business at the local market are among those who contracted the virus.
PCR tests are also being carried out among traders and persons living under lockdown areas by regional health authorities.
