The Customs has introduced HS codes for 142 new types of goods with effect from yesterday, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapiitya said.
“With the aim of facilitating and streamlining import - export, customs codes (HS Codes) will be introduced for 142 new types of goods from January 01”, a twitter message from the State Minister said.
The list of the new codes will be published in a gazette notification.
Ajith Gallage, the owner of a Bird Park in Nagarawawa, Hambantota, has been remanded over allegations of concealing illegally imported motorcycles, in a warehouse owned by him.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
