Nine more COVID-19 deaths were reported yesterday (8). Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka has gone up to 365.
A 95-year-old from Colombo 15, a 61-year-old from Anuradhapura, a 50-year-old from Kurunegala, a 70-year-old from Negombo, a 45-year-old from Colombo 12, a 76-year- old from Kayts, a 61-year-old from Horana, a 42-year-old from Gurudeniya and a 73-year-old from Mawanella succumbed to the deadly virus yesterday.
An alarming 878 cases were reported on Monday (8) increasing the total number of cases to 66,225. Majority of the cases continue to report from the Colombo district.
As of Monday, 167,762 persons have been given the COVID-19 vaccine, the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit said.
