Nine young three-wheel drivers have been arrested in in Wattala for conducting a race on the main Negombo road, Police said.
Police had received prior information that the group had organized the race and arrested the suspects as they went on to conduct the event.
All of the drivers were produced for a medical examination and two of them were found have used narcotics.
The suspects, from Dematagoda, Wellampitiya, Modara and Wattala areas are due to be produced in courts today.The three wheelers were held by the police until the court case is concluded.
