Railway services on the northern line was resumed today morning after the improvement of the track between Maho and Anuradhapura.
The General Manager of Railways S. S Mudalige said that the Yal devi train which left from Fort to Kankansanthurai at 5.45 am will end its journey at Kankasanthurai at 1.23pm.
He added that the Rajarata Rajina train would also run from Beliatta to Anuradhapura on Monday at 1.45 pm and reach Anuradhapura 06.15pm. The same train would operate from Anuradhapura to Belliatta on Tuesday at 5.30 am.
Mr Mudalige said that the train operation resumed with mutual agreement of the Railway engine drivers and authorities following a test run carried out in the northern line.
He added that with the resumption of the railway services of the northern line the times schedules of up down running trains from Colombo to Trincomalee and Colombo – Batticaloa would be amended.
