The younger brother of a notorious criminal wanted for murders, drug trafficking and other charges was nabbed at the Bandaranaike International Airport today by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) while he was returning from India.
His brother Balachandran Kanna alias Pukudukannan is currently in a jail in Chennai for drug trafficking charges. He is also a wanted person in Sri Lanka.
The suspect arrested today was identified as Balachandran Gajendran, 36 who has been living in India since 2023. He is wanted for several cases filed by at least three police stations.
The suspect has been detained by the CID for questioning
