One person was killed in an elephant attack while on his way to the Senanayake Samudraya for fishing with three others.
The group was chased by an elephant near the Gal Oya National Park area around 1 p.m. While they were running away from the elephant. One individual fell and was attacked by the elephant.
Later, when the group realized that the victim of this attack, Ajith Kumara, was missing, they reported it to the Inginiyagala Police.
Upon the search operations the Police, they discovered the body, and the victim was a 39-year-old resident of Paragahakale.
Steps were taken to take the body to the Ampara General Hospital for further investigations.
Investigations are underway by the Inginiyagala Police.
