More than 2,000 suspects have been arrested during operations carried out by the Police in the last 24 hours.
The operations have been launched on a fresh initiative to crackdown on drug traffickers.
During the raids, police detected 2.232 grams of Heroin, 769 ICE, 178 Kgs of Cannabis, 30,550 Cannabis plants and 3489 tablets used as drugs among other products used as narcotics.
Police, under the direction of the Public Security Minister Tiran Alles and Acting Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon have launched the operation.
The total number arrested is 2121 and 12 of them are being held under detention orders. Police directed that 133 are to be sent for rehabilitation.
Among those arrested were 116 wanted persons for drug offences.
